Thanks For Supporting The CRY Charity

15 September 2014

Our thanks to everyone who supported the CRY Fund and to Stuart and Paul for completing their sponsored cycle ride

Everyone at Crewe Alexandra Football Club would like to congratulate supporter Stuart Barley and his neighbour Paul Elias for completing a sponsored cycle ride from Mold Alexandra Football Club to Crewe Alexandra Football Club ahead of our home game against Port Vale on Saturday.

The two football fans were raising money for the CRY charity (Cardiac Arrest in the Young) and a bucket collection was also conducted before kick-off with all proceeds going to funding screening for heart defects.

After completing the first leg of their sponsored bike ride they presented a Mold FC shirt to Crewe Alexandra’s first team manager Steve Davis, who is a proud patron of the charity. The club also presented the two charity fund raisers with a signed Crewe Alexandra home shirt.

Steve works closely with Sue Dewhirst in helping with the charity after she sadly lost her son Matthew to a heart defect. Matthew was a keen footballer and rugby player.
