On-loan Ness back in contention after hamstring injury

On-loan midfielder Jamie Ness has come through training this week and has declared himself fit and available for selection for tomorrow’s home game with Port Vale. The Scotland Under-21 International has successfully overcome the hamstring injury he picked up at Swindon in August and has trained this week.

Ness, 23, was assessed by his parent club Stoke City before returning to Crewe earlier this week. Boss Steve Davis is expected to include the midfielder in his squad and then it is up to him to see if he recalls him to his starting line-up.

Harry Davis is expected to resume full training next week after six months out of action with a knee injury. The centre-half joined in with the first-team warm-up earlier today in readiness for a return to training.

The club may look to include him in an Under-21 fixture in September before considering him for first-team selection. Winger Ryan Colclough is also making progress and is comfortably running again following his double hernia operation.
