Defender close to hitting fitness level required to resume training
Harry Davis is not far of a return to training with the first-team squad. The Alex defender has not featured since March after injuring his knee in training. The 22-year-old underwent surgery to improve his cartilage and the Burnley-born centre-half has worked hard to get back.
Harry is expected to start full training very shortly after recently being close to hitting the fitness level needed to resume that level. The club have a required fitness level to reach before any player is permitted to re-join the group and Davis is near to hitting that figure.
Steve Davis explained to the club’s official web-site: “Harry was close to reaching the required level needed to re-join the group on a full-time basis.
“He is continuing to work with Rob Sharp, our physio, and he has been training on his own and is progressing all the time. He is close to joining in again and I’m sure he will do over the next couple of weeks.
“He is not far away and it be a boost for us to welcome him back into the group. Getting Harry and Ryan (Colclough) back will be like two new signings for us.”
