Steve Davis says derby day has all the ingredients to be cracker.
Steve Davis says this weekend’s first meeting with Port Vale possesses ‘all the ingredients to be a really exciting derby day’.
The Alex go into the first derby encounter of the new season hoping to secure their first league points of the campaign, while our visitors from Burslem have not won in their last five either.
Steve is hoping that acquiring the three points could prove to be a real turning point in our season.
The Alex boss told crewealex.net: “The Port Vale games are the ones I always look for first when the fixtures come out. I look for the home and the away games against the Vale and then who we start and finish the season against.
“It is a big game that everyone connected to the two clubs looks forward to. It is three points on offer but also pride amongst the supporters. We are hoping that this Saturday could be a turning point for us.
The boss added: “Form doesn’t really come into it and we are both looking for that win to put us back on track. They are coming into it after losing their last four games as well, so all the ingredients are there for a really exciting derby day.”
