Boss to decide whether to take Bournemouth defender today

Steve Davis will make a decision on defender Stephane Zubar today. The Bournemouth defender came up to South Cheshire for a brief trial period and he played 90 minutes for the club’s Under-21 side against Colchester United last night.

Zubar, 27, is looking for some regular football after being branded surplus to requirements at Dean Court. Davis wanted to have a look at the centre-half before making a decision on whether to take him on a short-term loan deal.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We will make a decision on Stephane today. We spoke about him last night and then again this morning.

“He has been good enough to come up here and have a short trial with us and has been very good around the place. He has been a pleasure to work with.

“If we choose to pursue the interest then we would talk to Bournemouth and he would be involved on Saturday. If we don’t pursue it then there are one or two others we could turn to.”
