Max Clayton signs for Championship club

Bolton Wanderers Football Club have confirmed the signing of our former player Max Clayton on a three-year contract.

Clayton, 20, has joined the Championship club after the two clubs agreed a compensation package to allow the striker to resume his career.

The Nantwich-based Clayton scored 16 goals in 92 appearances for Crewe Alexandra Football Club and was a member of the side that won promotion in 2012 and the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy a year later.

Clayton scored the second goal in a 2-0 win over Southend United at the national stadium to help us lift the Football League Trophy for the first time in our history.

Clayton is eligible for Bolton Wanderers weekend game against Wolves at Molineux.
