Alex Injury Update

18 September 2014

Crewe to check on Saunders and Guthrie ahead of MK trip

Crewe Alexandra’s young centre-forward Callum Saunders has missed the club’s last two games due to a foot injury. The Wales Youth International picked up the slight injury after catching the bottom of Adam Dugdale’s boot in a training session.

The top of Saunders’ foot suffered some bruising, but it is hoped that the teenager could be back in contention to travel to Milton Keynes this weekend.

The Alex will also assess the fitness of Jon Guthrie after the left-back was on the receiving end of a hefty challenge towards the end of our 1-1 draw with Yeovil Town on Tuesday evening. Guthrie was able to shake the injury off and complete the game.

Harry Davis has returned to training but will have to play some Under-21 fixtures to improve his lost match fitness. Ryan Colclough is making progress and will be assessed again at St. George’s Park before he can target a return to full training with the first team.
