Boss says Ollie Turton's work ethic set the tone for the performance
As you would expect it was forward players George Cooper and Febian Brandy making the headlines for their match winning goals against Coventry City at the weekend , but the industrious midfielder Oliver Turton earned praise for his work ethic from boss Steve Davis.
The tenacious Turton, alongside Anthony Grant, helped contain Coventry in the second half to preserve our 2-1 lead at Gresty Road and their pressing was a real feature of our performance.
Following a much needed 2-1 win over the Sky Blues, the manager said of Turton: “Ollie was magnificent in his effort and he was really dogged for us.
“He worked really hard to stop them from playing and the pressing from him and Granty was much better.
He added: “Ollie also had a hand in the first goal when he slid Febian in. He really played his part and that’s more like what I want to see from Ollie because he showed what he is capable of.”
