Defender could yet make trip to Yorkshire
Crewe Alexandra could be handed a boost ahead of this weekend’s trip to Bradford City after George Ray was fit enough to participate in the morning session. The centre-half was withdrawn in the first half of our mid-week defeat to Notts County after aggravating his groin muscle. He was replaced by Adam Dugdale.
Ray’s groin seems to have settled down though and he is ready to declare himself fit for selection.
Steve Davis would then have to decide who his defensive partnership is going to be. Harry Davis played 50 minutes for the Development squad on Wednesday evening but it is far too early for him to be considered for selection after he has previously missed the past six months due to a knee injury.
Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “George’s groin has settled down a bit and he is keen to train today, so we will see how he is.
“It is a lot more positive than we thought and is more of a stain than any sort of tear.”
