New loan signing gives boss food for thought after completing 90 minutes for development team

Crewe Alexandra’s latest loan signing Danny Haynes is pushing for his full debut for the club after completing the full 90 minutes of the club’s Under-21 match at Nottingham Forest.

The on-loan Notts County striker was given game time for the Development Squad 48 hours after he marked his debut for Crewe Alexandra when coming off the bench in the club’s 1-0 defeat by Sheffield United.

Haynes was given the final 25 minutes on Saturday after replacing Marcus Haber against the Blades and boss Steve Davis was impressed with his pace and willingness to run in behind.

The Alex boss told crewealex.net: “Danny needs game time and that is why he was willing to come here. He has missed a lot of football and just needs that match fitness.

“He came through the 90 minutes against Nottingham Forest on Monday and that is a step in the right direction in the lead up to the weekend.

He added: “He will train again tomorrow and he will be assessed like everyone else. He will be judged on how he looks and there is a chance for everyone to be involved at Crawley. “
