Febian Looks Forward To Blades Clash

24 October 2014

Brandy aims to inspire Crewe to another win over one of his former clubs

The former Blade Febian Brandy says he has nothing to prove to his former employers this weekend and he is solely focussed on trying to help Crewe Alexandra secure their fourth win on the trot after morale boosting victories over Coventry, Walsall and Peterborough United.

November and although he admits himself it didn’t work out as well as he would have wanted at Sheffield United, the 25-year-old is treating Saturday’s meeting as like any other game. rdBrandy extended his loan spell with Crewe Alexandra recently to take him through to 23

Brandy spent last year on Sheffield United’s books, failing to score in his 15 outings before re-joining Walsall on loan in January. He moved to Rotherham United in the summer.

The Manchester-born Brandy expects an indifferent reaction from the visiting Sheffield United fans, but he says that won’t affect his performance or desire to get the points for Crewe.

Ahead of this weekend’s clash at Gresty Road, Febian told us: “I think it will be a little bit different to the Walsall reception this weekend, maybe more like 60/40!

“When I’m on the pitch though I don’t really pay attention to what’s going on off the pitch - All that matters is what’s going on in the game.

“Yeah obviously I know from being at Sheffield United that it is a massive club and they’ve got a pretty strong side, but if we play like we’ve been playing recently then we can win, especially with us being at home and having the support on our side.

Febian added: “Hopefully I’ll score! The main thing is we get the win the game. We’re all positive and raring to go and we can’t wait to play games at the moment. Everyone is buzzing.”
