Alex keen to keep forward who returns to his former club Walsall tomorrow

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis claims it would be interesting to see Febian Brandy face his former club Walsall tomorrow in what yet could be his final appearance for the club. Brandy’s current loan agreement is set to expire after the trip to the Banks’s Stadium - but the Crewe manager is keen to extend the loan spell if his parent club Rotherham will oblige.

Brandy certainly caught the eye last weekend when making his full debut for the club against Coventry City, scoring the opening goal in a man-of-the-match performance.

With Marcus Haber returning from International duty, the Crewe Alexandra boss does have options up front and has already hinted earlier in the week that he wouldn’t be afraid to change a winning team.

Steve told crewealex.net: “It will interesting to see Febian at Walsall because he did well there and they liked him. He will know the majority of the boys there and hopefully if he selected for us then it could lead him to produce another good performance for us.

“It could be his final game for us. The discussions on what happens next with us are still on-going but he showed what he could do last Saturday.

“It was unfortunate that he missed the first two weeks with that calf injury but he is fine and fit. I am sure he has enjoyed it here and I’ve seen his post-match interview where he was on about playing games and scoring goals for us. That is why we were keen to bring him here and hopefully we can come to an agreement.

“He is a lot sharper and we’ll see how he does tomorrow for us.”
