Davis Hails 'Dynamite' Brandy

Steve Davis praise for fit-again Brandy

Steve Davis was a relieved manager to have his on-loan signing Febian Brandy back from injury as his man-of-the-match performance helped Crewe Alexandra record their second win of the season.

Brandy opened the scoring with a tidy finish before George Cooper fired home a superb second goal from a free-kick. Crewe led 2-0 at the break and had to show some real resilience after Coventry pulled a goal back just minutes into the second half.

Brandy, who had only recently returned from a calve injury certainly put a shift in with the on loan Rotherham United forward lasting until the dying minutes.

Boss Steve Davis described his match winning display as ‘dynamite for us’.

Steve told crewealex.net: “It was just nice to have Febian out there because he injured his calf almost on his first day and we have not been able to see enough of him.

“He has worked hard all week in training and I just felt right that this game was right for him. I thought he could hurt them with his runs inside the full-backs and behind the centre-halves and I think he did that.

“He did just that for his goal and he continued to be a threat. He was out on his feet at the end and that is why we had to change it but if Febian is 100% fit then he is a real asset for us.

The boss added: “Febian was a little dynamite for us and he played a major part in the win.”
