Club To Assess Haber Today

17 October 2014

Steve to decide on Marcus after his International appearance for Canada

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis and his coaching staff will assess Marcus Haber’s condition today before deciding on their starting line-up for the trip to Walsall. Haber has resumed training following his recent outing for Canada against Colombia in New Jersey. Haber played half an hour as Canada lost 1-0 to a James Rodriquez strike, but Davis is more concerned with the travel and training he has had to endure over the past 11 days.

Haber who is currently the club’s joint leading goal scorer with three goals missed last weekend’s 2-1 win over Coventry City with stand-ins Febian Brandy and George Cooper scoring the goals.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Marcus seems fine. He has come back into today and has come through okay without an injury, but we will assess him today. We will know very quickly once he begins training if he is suffering any fatigue.

The boss added: “I know he only played half an hour over there but it is all the travelling and the training that can take it out of him.”
