Steve Davis says winger now ready to show he can be a game changer

Steve Davis says he will have to see the best of winger Febian Brandy before he will consider extending his loan spell with us. The talented wide man has had a stop/start loan spell so far due to a tight calf muscle.

The Rotherham United wide man has been restricted to just two substitute appearances and had to overcome an untimely car accident on the eve of our game at Bradford at the weekend. Brandy was given the all-clear to meet up with the squad at Valley Parade after suffering the bump on the morning of the game.

Brandy has two games of his loan agreement left against Coventry this weekend and then his former club Walsall the weekend after.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “We haven’t really had the chance to work with Febian on a consistent basis since he has got here, because he had that trouble with his calf and was unable to train.

“We are looking forward to working with him this week because we haven’t had them out enough to work with him.

“Febian had a car accident before the game at Bradford and he had to meet us at the stadium. He was fine to be involved from the bench and I thought he would give us some thrust and cause them some problems.

“He tired quickly but I thought he showed glimpses and flashes of what he can offer. He can be useful for us and we will see how he does this week in training.

He added: “Febian has two games left on his loan and we will assess our position on him after the Walsall game.”
