Audel Determined To Fight For Place

9 October 2014

Defender Thierry Audel has possibility of going out on loan with chances limited here

. Crewe Alexandra’s French defender Thierry Audel has interested a selection of clubs, who are keen to take him on loan, but the former Macclesfield Town man is determined to remain in the Football League rather than return to the Conference

The 27-year-old enjoyed a really successful loan spell at Lincoln last season and the Imps manager Gary Simpson was keen to take him back to Sincil Bank. Audel, to his great credit, is currently content to remain at Crewe Alexandra and fight for his place after he had a taste of first team action having started our games away at Yeovil and in Milton Kenyes. Audel lost his place following the heavy 6-1 defeat at stadium:mk.

Steve Davis told crewealex.net: “There has been some interest in Thierry. There have been four or five clubs asking about him and that could still be a possibility because with Alan Tate coming in and Harry (Davis) on the way back to full fitness, he would slip down the pecking order.

“Thierry is a really good guy and he is working hard to get a chance here. He wants to play here. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens but he is one player we would like to go out on loan and get some games under his belt.”
