Steve Davis praise for Chris Atkinson following his return to first team action last weekend
Chris Atkinson will only continue to improve with more match fitness according to Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis. The former Huddersfield Town midfielder regained his place in the starting line-up for last weekend’s trip to Bradford City and he will be hoping to keep his place for the visit of Coventry City this Saturday.

Steve told crewealex.net: “Chris missed a proportion of the pre-season and then suffered that set-back with the injury against Wolves. He has had to play catch-up a bit with his fitness but he has worked hard on that and worked hard to impress with the Under-21s and in training.
“He has not had a lot of game time so he has had to find his match fitness. Once he is fully match fit I’m sure we will see the best of Chris.
“He deserved his chance against Bradford after he played well for the Under-21s against Ipswich in the mid-week.
