A Fit Brandy Could Be A Real Asset

6 October 2014

The on-loan Febian Brandy could make a difference to us in the final third of the pitch if he can get an extended run in training believes Alex boss Steve Davis. The tricky winger joined the club on a one-month loan deal from Rotherham United, but his impact was almost immediately interrupted by a frustrating calf strain.

That forced him to miss the home games against Colchester and Notts County but he made a return a second half substitute against Bradford.

Brandy, 25, combined well with full debutant George Cooper to create our best chance of the game before Bradford eventually opened the scoring on 72 minutes. Brandy played Cooper in but his shot was pushed away by the Bradford goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Davis is how opening that Brandy will get a full week of training under his belt and push himself into contention for the visit of Coventry this weekend.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “Febian came on and showed glimpses of what he can offer us on the ball. He showed some bursts of energy but he tired quickly because he has struggled with his fitness.

“Febian needs a week of training under his belt. If he can get his energy levels up in the games then he could be a real asset for us whilst he is here because he has good ability.”
