Turton Should Be Okay For Weekend

11 November 2014

Midfielder suffering with tight hamstring but is expected to be fit.

Crewe Alexandra midfielder Ollie Turton has been suffering with a tight hamstring since Saturday’s FA Cup tie with Sheffield United and although he has not been able to train over the last couple of days, the Accrington-based youngster is expected to be fit for the weekend.

Turton is expected to train later in the week and declare himself available for the visit of Chesterfield to Gresty Road. Turton has suffered with some soreness in the muscle and has undergone treatment over the last few days from head physio Rob Sharp.

Meanwhile fellow midfielder Liam Nolan is making significant progress from his ankle injury and it is hoped that he could make a return to training at the end of this week or early next week.

On-loan defender Alan Tate is fine and available for selection after returning from his brief spell back at his parent club Swansea City for treatment. Tate was given permission to receive treatment from the Premier League club and to spend some time with his family in South Wales.
