Steve Davis says his dressing room is looking forward to Bramall Lane trip
Steve Davis says that a trip to Bramall Lane is something to look forward to for his young players. Crewe have another chance to progress past last season’s FA Cup semi-finalists Sheffield United after holding Nigel Clough’s Blades to a goalless draw at Gresty Road.
The Railwaymen travel to South Yorkshire without three unavailable strikers, Febian Brandy, Danny Haynes and Marcus Haber (International duty) but Davis says that with more pressure now on Sheffield United, his Crewe side could well spring a Cup surprise.

thThe winner of the first round replay will face Plymouth Argyle in round two at home on December 6
Ahead of our re-match against Sheffield United, Steve said: “It will be a tough game against one of the outstanding teams at our level. They have some excellent players but we go there in good form as well having lost just one in seven games.
“Nigel likes his teams to do well in the cups. They recently lost to Walsall in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and he will be disappointed with that because they would have considered that as their best chance of winning Wembley. They are still in the Capital One Cup and will want to do well in the FA Cup again after reaching the semi-final last season.
“As a player these are the game you look forward to. Sheffield United are a big club and it should be a good atmosphere. We will be going there to frustrate them and put them on the back foot as much as we can.
“We haven’t had much success in the FA Cup and we are looking to progress and have a good run if we can.”
