Crewe Handed Injury Boost

3 November 2014

Ness and Inman return to training ahead of FA Cup weekend

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis could be handed a boost ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup meeting with Sheffield United after midfield players Jamie Ness and Bradden Inman made successful returns to training today. Both missed the weekend trip to Crawley as Davis had to go with a young squad because of injury and suspensions.

Ness missed the 1-1 draw at the Broadfield Stadium due to a calf strain and Inman was not risked after suffering that worrying head injury against Sheffield United in our previous league encounter. Crewe had to wait for medical clearance for Inman to return to training after he suffered mild concussion in our 1-0 defeat to the Blades.

Combative midfielder Anthony Grant is available for selection again after serving his one match suspension. Grant missed the weekend trip to Crawley after collecting five yellow cards in the early part of the season.

Defender George Ray is set to miss his second game of a three match ban after he was red carded against Sheffield United due to dissent shown to the referee.

Crewe will also be without forwards Febian Brandy and Danny Haynes are they were not granted permission to play in the FA Cup for us as part of their loan agreement.
