Ryan Colclough to undergo small op to release tightness around his groin
Crewe Alexandra winger Ryan Colclough has suffered a slight set-back in his rehabilitation with the need for him to under a small operation to ‘release tightness around part of his groin area.’
The Alex forward, who has now been out of first team action for over a year, has made considerable progress over the last month but is still suffering pain in one of his groins when striking the ball. Colclough will undergo the operation today to ease the stress around his pelvic area.
Steve Davis explained to the club’s official web-site: “Ryan will have an op today to release some tightness around one of his groins. He has made progress and has been able to take part in some training sessions.
“He has felt some tightness and pain when striking the ball and this operation will just provide some slack and release some of that tension. It is a slight set-back but we are confident that this will be the final part of his rehab and it will be sorted and cleared.
“After the operation it will just be a question of him coming in and working as hard as he can, as often as he can. It is something that needs doing.
The manager added: “There is light at the end of the tunnel for him because it has been a long road for him.”
