Ajose: "Can't Wait To Get Going"

27 November 2014

Nicky Ajose says he is determined to show what he can do after a frustrating start to the season

Crewe Alexandra’s on-loan signing Nicky Ajose says he cannot wait to get back playing regular football again after finding it difficult to establish himself at Championship Leeds United. Ajose signed on loan until 5th January yesterday and is expected to make his home debut for the club against Doncaster Rovers this weekend.

The Bury-born forward, who hit 17 goals at League One level last season for Swindon Town and Peterborough told Crewe Alex Player of his delight in being able to get out and play games again.

Nicky exclusively told Crewe Alex Player: “I’m delighted to be here. I’m ready to play some football and hopefully help the team climb out of the bottom four.

“I’ve wanted to come out for probably about three months now. It’s been difficult to say the least to get out to come and play football. It’s been going on a while now for the possible opportunity to come and play here and finally it’s been done and I’m looking forward to getting back to doing my job.

“I want to play football on a Saturday afternoon. I’ve been training on Saturday afternoons for the last three months so having that opportunity to get involved with a squad on a Saturday is something I’m going to relish.

He added: “I know I can score goals, I think I’ve proven that and it’s just about doing that again here. Hopefully creating, scoring and just doing what I can to get the results really. I’m sure if I’m playing well then that will have a knock-on effect for the team and we’ll do well.”
