Steve Davis says future of Leek winger still in balance

Steve Davis says has said that no decision has yet been made on the future of winger John Johnson. The Staffordshire-based youngster joined Crewe Alexandra on a short term contract from Leek but returned to Harrison Park on loan to allow him to continue to play first-team football.

Johnson trained with Crewe Alexandra’s first team as manager Steve Davis assessed his potential.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “There has been no decision made on John. We have spoken at length about him and he is still in working hard but we have not made a definite decision on his future yet.

“I am sure he will be another one we will discuss because it is only fair on him that we decide what to do. He will want to know and as a club we will need to know where we are going with him.

“We have had a technical meeting yesterday and conversations regarding certain players took place, so we have a better idea of what we need going forward.”
