Ng: "A Great Feeling To Sign"

14 May 2014

Liverpool-born defender aims to give his best to try and break into first-teams plans

Perry Ng says he is delighted to have signed his first professional contract after having to see some of his former team-mates not offered terms this summer. Ng is one of six Crewe Alexandra scholars to have been offered a professional contract by the club and the Liverpool-born defender is the first to sign his new deal which will initially take him through to the summer of 2016.

Ng, who only turns 18 in June, was a part of the two development squads that reached their respective finals this season.

The centre-half, who can also operate in the full-back positions’ told Crewe Alex Player: “It’s a great feeling. I’ve been at Crewe for ten years now, so it’s a great feeling to sign a professional contract after a hard season. Some of the lads in our group didn’t get one, so I’m just buzzing to have been offered one.

“I can’t wait for next year, it should be good. It will be hard, but I’m going to have to work hard to push on and get into the first team.

“I’ll be trying to push on to try and get a starting place and see where it takes me. I’ll work hard through the summer to get fit and strong – I know I need to bulk up a bit, but I’ll be trying my hardest.

“I’ll probably begin playing a few games for the U21’s, but it’s my job now to try and push harder to get into the first team.

“To be a part of the Under-21 success gave me a taste of it and it was great to play alongside some of the more experienced lads here. It was good to be involved in that and get to know them and how the first-team works. It was a great experience and great to win the trophy.”
