Fraser Delight In Signing Terms

15 May 2014

Scotland youth international pleased that hard work has seen him rewarded with a professional contract

Fraser Murdoch could not hide his delight after signing his first professional contract with the club this afternoon. The Manchester-born forward has agreed a two-year deal with the option of a further year and follows defender Perry Ng after he signed his first deal yesterday.

Murdoch, 18, told Crewe Alex Player: “I’m over the moon. I’ve been at the club since I was seven, so I’ve been here for 11 years now and it’s just great to finally sign.

“It feels like such a relief to finally say that I’m a professional footballer, but it’s a shame for a few of the lads who were not taken on because they’re all great players. I’m sure they will all go on to have great careers in football themselves.

“I play as a striker. I’m quite good at getting up and providing an aerial threat. I’m good with my left foot and right foot, good at holding the ball up and running in behind.

“The injury has been very frustrating. Two days after my injury I was meant to be playing for Scotland in the European Championships, so that was quite a disappointing time. I’ve just got to focus now and get back as fit and strong as possible.”

“I’ve got great staff behind me. Nick Oakley the physio is doing a lot for me and I feel a lot better for it.”
