Ellis Joins Shrewsbury

30 May 2014

Former Alex defender has signed for Shrews

The former Crewe Alexandra defender Mark Ellis has signed for Shrewsbury Town on a two-year deal. Ellis was released by Crewe this summer after two years at the club. The former Torquay United man played almost 100 games for the club and helped us lift the Johnstone's Paint Trophy following a 2-0 win over Southend United at Wembley.

Ellis told the BBC: "It was disappointing to leave a good club like Crewe and I would've stayed if I was offered something, but that wasn't the case. "You might say it's a backward step but the club want to come straight back up and I want to be playing in League One."

Everyone at Crewe Alexandra would like to wish Mark all the very best in his future career.
