James Jones says hard work starts now but he is determined to follow Turton, Waters and Nolan into the first-team
James Jones has become the latest Crewe Alexandra youngster to sign professional terms with the Football Club and the teenage midfielder says that one of the main reasons he was delighted to remain with Crewe is their fantastic record in promoting from within.
Jones, who has captained the club’s Youth team this season, follows Perry Ng, Fraser Murdoch and George Cooper by signing his first professional contract with the club this summer but he admitted to Crewe Alex Player that the hard work really stats now.
James told Crewe Alex Player: “I’m delighted. It’s a great thing to be a part of and I’m just glad I’ve signed. It’s a great way to cap off a good season for me.
“I’ve been here at Crewe since I was seven, so all the years I’ve put in are starting to pay off – now the real hard work starts.
“Crewe is a great club to be at. There is great coaching, great facilities and most importantly, a club renowned for giving young players a chance – so I’m really happy to be here and I can’t wait for next season to show what I can do.
“It’s a good club to be at, because not many clubs are going to be offering that many pro contracts out and Crewe is renowned for giving players a chance, especially young academy players.”
