Assistant manager Neil Baker hails acheivement after tough year
Assistant manager Neil Baker has hailed our League One survival as a better achievement than our recent successes at Wembley. Crewe Alexandra have enjoyed two trips to Wembley Stadium for the League Two Play-Off Final and the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final but Baker says this achievement feels sweeter.
After the final whistle, Baker said: “The first emotion is relief and the second is pride. We played really well today and deserved to win. It is a fantastic day for everyone involved and the supporters were fantastic from the first minute. They made it a great day for the club.
“Let me assure that this achievement is better than winning at Wembley. To stay in this division after what has been a difficult year is a tremendous achievement by everyone.”
