Uche Ikpeazu close to return to action

Uche Ikpeazu has resumed training after working hard to overcome the niggling injuries that have hampered his loan spell with Crewe Alexandra. The Watford youngster has struggled with an ankle and dead leg but has been indulging in two daily sessions to get himself fully fit.

The Crewe Alexandra supporters certainly saw his great potential after his superb two goals in the 3-3 draw at Bradford, but he has struggled to get back out on the pitch since.

Steve Davis has been pleased with Ikpeazu work ethic and desire to get himself fit after not playing too many games this season.

“Uche is running and he has worked very hard to get back. He has been doing two sessions a day with Andy Franks (fitness coach) and he has overcome his injuries now. He is fitter and learner and his testing results are now way better than when he first arrived.

He added: “He is up there with the rest of the squad and now we have to get him on the pitch. He is continuing to work hard and we’ll see how he is. If he is sharp then he could come with us.”
