Steve Davis delighted with subs second half impact
Steve Davis was pleased with the impact his two second half substitutes made against Swindon Town at the weekend. Young Billy Waters and forward Vadaine Oliver certainly injected a fresh impetus in the final third of the pitch. Oliver scored a fantastic equalising goal to salvage a hard fought point against a very good Swindon side while Waters certainly made an impression on what was only his four appearances for the club.
Following the 1-1 draw with Mark Cooper’s Swindon, Davis said: “Billy did fine and I was pleased with the two substitutes who came on. I thought they were excellent and gave us some real zest up there.
“It didn’t surprise me that Billy made an impact. We know what he is capable of and it is just a question of him transferring that into the matches.
“He was one of our options from the bench and with half an hour to go I thought that he could provide us with something different.
“He quickly got into the game and Vadaine added to that. They really had a go and the subs made a real difference to us.”
