Steve Davis on Dean Smith's attractive Walsall side

Steve Davis has been a keen admirer of the job Dean Smith has achieved at Walsall. The Saddlers still have an outside chance of securing a top six finish and they will be looking for the three points this evening to keep that dream alive.

Following a 4-2 defeat at Peterborough United on Saturday, Crewe will be aiming to bounce back at the Banks’ s Stadium.

Ahead of tonight’s game, Steve told crewealex.net: “Walsall always stick to their passing game and Dean has developed that philosophy. I am sure their supporters have enjoyed the football they have been playing over the last few years.

They have lost some important players but have replaced them with decent players. As we know here that transition is never easy but Dean has done a great job. “They know the way they want to play and Deano knows his players well.

“They have an attractive way of playing, have good players and it will be a difficult game.”
