Clayton hoping he can play a part in the run in.
Max Clayton says he is feeling good as he nears a return to the Alex side. Clayton has been out of action since suffering a fracture to his ankle in the 2-0 FA Cup defeat to Wycombe Wanderers back in November.
But after a heavy rehabilitation period Max is nearing a return to the Alex side, although there is currently no set time for a return to action.
Max told Crewe Alex Player: “There have been some days along the way that have been incredibly hard physically. But I think I have come through it stronger and I am really feeling good at the minute.
“The injury feels great at the minute really and it just about building up my fitness over the next couple of weeks. I am not too far off now.
“It all depends on how I react to the fitness tests that come over the next couple of the weeks and of course whether Steve (Davis) decides to include me or not. But I am sure I will be available to help the team soon. “
