Steve Davis says dressing room remains calm

Despite falling back into the bottom four, Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says there will be no-one panicking at Gresty Road. Davis has reiterated to his players that their destiny remains very much in their own hands and that he will be making saw his dressing room remains calm and only focusses on the next game.

Crewe face a difficult away day at play-off chasing Peterborough this weekend, but Davis says that if we can play as we did at Port Vale then the result will take care of itself.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I am sure there are some nervous about when it comes to some of the supporters but it is my job to keep everyone as calm as they can be. The players have to remain as relaxed as possible and keep their focus on playing well.

“We will only be concentrating on ourselves and what we need to do. I know who we have coming up in terms of the fixture but I am only focussed on getting a result at Peterborough.

“If we can play well then the result will take of itself. If we can repeat what we did at Port Vale and all that comes with that particular fixture then we will be fine.

He added: “We don’t want nerves or anxiety but I’ve always said that having that little bit of pressure brings the best of people. Everyone here is remaining positive.”
