Midfielder returns to training to bolster options

Brad Inman may be only rated as 50/50 for this weekend’s trip to Peterborough but Steve Davis’ squad has been bolstered by the return to fitness of George Evans (foot) Mark Ellis (foot), George Ray (ankle) and AJ Leitch-Smith (ankle).

Manager Steve Davis says that the on-loan Manchester City midfielder has experienced some discomfort in his foot, but that he is willing to play through the pain barrier at London Road.

Abdul Osman and the on-loan Uche Ikpeazu are also making progress and could yet declare themselves fit for the trip to Peterborough.

Steve Davis told crewealex.net: “We do have some players coming back, perhaps not as many as I thought but with Tuesday’s game coming up at Walsall as well, we look a lot healthier.

“They are improving and we have better options. George (Evans) has trained and he is fine. He still has some soreness in his foot but he is willing to play through that pain.

“We have a few coming back from knocks. It may be a little soon for the likes of Abdul and Uche but they could well be available for Tuesday. Saying that if they are sharp in training this morning then they could travel.”
