Defender okay to train after being taken off with neck injury

Crewe Alexandra defender Mark Ellis has been passed fit enough to train after suffering a neck and shoulder injury against Oldham at the weekend. The centre-half bravely went in to try and reach a late corner into the penalty area and needed extended treatment on the pitch before being replaced by Kelvin Mellor.

Adam Dugdale also had to have a toe nail drained of fluid after being stamped on in the Under-21s encounter at Coventry City yesterday. Dugdale will be fine and will travel to Gillingham.

Brad Inman had a tooth extracted yesterday and was thus prevented from training today. Byron was ill on Monday but has returned to training today.

All of the Alex squad are available for selection except long-term absentees Max Clayton and Ryan Colclough and Vadaine Oliver, who has been struggling with tonsillitis.
