Destiny Remains In Our Hands

10 March 2014

Davis remains confident that the group will get the wins we will need

Steve Davis says that our destiny remains very much in our own hands with an important run of fixtures coming up. The Alex still have to play eight of the clubs still living in fear of being dragged into a relegation scrap and after tomorrow night’s encounter at Walsall have three of the next four fixtures at home.

Davis remains confident that his group of players will turn things around in the remaining 11 games and achieve enough points to avoid the drop into Sky Bet League Two.

Ahead of the trip to Walsall, Steve told the official web-site: “There are 11 games left and plenty of points to play for. There is still not much in it and the table didn’t alter that much after Saturday’s result.

“I am sure we will looking at the table after Tuesday and over the weekend to see if that has changed. What we are focussed on is trying to get those three points to make sure we give ourselves the best chance of getting out of the bottom four as soon as possible and then push on from there.

“It is extremely tight and we have some important games coming up against clubs that are in and around us at the bottom of the table. After the Walsall fixture we have three of the next four at home and have to take advantage of that.

He added: “It is all to play for and we remain confident that we will get the wins we will need.”
