Aneke confident the Alex can get out of trouble despite late Saddlers suckerpunch
On loan Arsenal striker Chuks Aneke believes Crewe Alexandra have enough quality in the squad to pull away from the relegation mire and avoid an end of season dogfight.
Only a late own goal prevented the Railwaymen from sealing all three points in a 1-1 draw at Walsall after Aneke himself struck just after the break to keep his fine run of goal scoring form rolling on.
“We should’ve won that game,” said Aneke. “I’m really disappointed but we’ve got to dust ourselves off again and go on Saturday.
“Before coming here we would’ve been delighted to get a point but playing the game and being 1-0 up, it’s disappointing to lose that lead.
“We all believe in the squad that we can get out of this and that we’ve got enough quality to get out of this, so it’s just about getting the results now. When you’re down there, things like this happen, so it’s just about getting the luck on our side and seeing out games like this to get the three points. We’re desperate to move up that table and get away from the relegation zone.”
