Baker says Madrid's Champions League success was build on technical and hard work

Neil Baker says that our country can continue to learn from the mentality of the Germans and the Spanish to improve our own game. Baker will be watching the forthcoming World Cup finals in Brazil with great interest and although he is quick to indicate that England does produce good technical players, they also need that tactical nous and incredible work ethic to get results at the very highest level.

Baker told crewealex.net: “Football is evolving all the time and the one think that you really notice with the top teams is not only do they have god players but they also work incredibly hard when out of possession as well.

“Every coach and manager is striving to get that combination of playing good, entertaining football with the right organisation, tactical awareness and having that work ethic.

“Those are the principles that every manager would like to implement into their team and you can see it at the highest level when the Germans or Spanish play. When you watch Real Madrid, you see all the top names but you also see them working hard for the team. That makes them a very difficult side to beat.

"I am not saying that we are going to be Real Madrid or Bayern Munich but you can try and get that balance into your team."
