Davis Has Premier League Starlet In Mind

Crewe boss says he has loan stars lined up if needs be

Steve Davis has told that he has lined up a loan signing from a Premier League club. The Crewe Alexandra boss has used his contacts in the game to line-up one or possibly two loan players to enhance his team for next season if needs be.

Davis is looking to strengthen in all departments but is specifically after a more natural winger to replace the outgoing Byron Moore and another centre forward.

Davis told the club’s official web-site that one potential loan signing is already in place, with another a strong possibility.

“I have a chance to take a couple of Premier League players that have been offered to us, ‘he said.

“It’s almost guaranteed with one of them if we choose to do it but it won’t happen straight away because he might start the pre-season with his own club. He may come straight here in early July, we’ll just have to wait and see on that one.

“That is up to his club but we have one or two exciting options who would come in and help the group. Signing players on loan helps financially and they can make a difference to us, as the likes of Chuks, Brad and Uche have done in the past.

He added: “We give them an opportunity and the player gets invaluable experience, so it works both ways. The clubs we work with on that, understand that.”
