No Plans To Bring Evans Back

Davis to keep faith with our own youngsters

A return on loan for George Evans does not appear to be on the cards at the moment as Steve Davis looks to put his faith in emerging youngsters Liam Nolan and Oliver Turton to replace the departing Abdul Osman.

Evans arrived from Manchester City on loan last season and performed admirably in his 25 appearances. The 19-year-old scored his only goal in the club’s local derby against Port Vale back in November.

Steve said: “George still has a contract at Manchester City and we are unsure of his situation. We have had no dialogue with him and there are no plans for us to bring him back at the moment.

“I’m sure George will want to start pre-season with Manchester City and see where he stands. He is a great lad and great to work with. He was always keen to learn and improve and I’m sure he benefitted from the experience as well.

“George is a young player and with most young players he had a dip in form, but he did fine for us.”
