Steve Davis says first-year professionals have added something to training
Steve Davis says that the introduction of six new first-year professionals has livened up pre-season training with their attitude and enthusiasm. The Alex boss has been impressed with the new first-year professionals and says that they will get an opportunity to show what they can do in the pre-season matches that start this week.
Crewe signed six first-year professionals this summer and although they are not expected to start the season in the first-team squad they could yet spring a surprise. Crewe were delighted to sign Callum Saunders, Perry Ng, Callum Pritchard-Ellis. James Baillie, Fraser Murdoch and James Jones to professional contracts. They were joined by the impressive winger George Cooper who also signed a year earlier.
Steve told crewealex.net: “The youngsters have been good. They have certainly livened things up with their enthusiasm. They are all keen to impress and I can see that they are just looking forward to the pre-season games now because they want to show what they can do.
“They all have a great attitude and all six of them have been in during the closed season. They are determined to do well and one or two may really surprise us in terms of the first-team. They will get an opportunity to play in the friendly games and we will see how they do.”
