Possible move delayed to see if striker is needed on pre-season tour
Steve Davis is waiting on a possible loan signing because he doesn’t know if the promising youngster will be included on his club’s pre-season tour. Davis has targeted a centre-forward, as well as a natural wide man and central midfield player this summer and will continue to be patient as he attempts to sign a high calibre of player.
Davis understands that the player is willing to go out on loan to gain some invaluable experience and that the club know that Crewe Alexandra always give loan players the opportunity to play.
.thDavis will look to strength his squad with at least two or three more signings before the big kick off at Fleetwood Town on August 9
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “There has been a slight delay with one possible loan signing because his respective club may include him on their pre-season tour.
“Once we know whether he will be going or not is when we will get the green light to do something. We will just have to wait on that and see what the decision is.
“We do have one or two alternatives if it doesn’t happen but we would like him because he would make a different to us. He is one who would improve us.
“The club want him to go out and play and they know what we offer here. We offer loan players the chance to play and provide that individual coaching they perhaps won’t get elsewhere.
Steve added: “We are told the player wants to come and get some games and hopefully the agent won’t get involved and tries to make it more difficult than it should be.”
