Toots Disappointed To Miss Friendly Openers

10 July 2014

Captain itching to play again

Matt Tootle has told crewealex.net that he is ‘disappointed and annoyed’ not be featuring in the club’s opening two friendly fixtures at Norton and Nantwich after he slightly aggravated his ankle in training. The club captain will not be risked for the two opening friendly games after missing training sessions this week, but the double player-of-the-year is expected to feature at either Leek or Chester the following week.

“It is disappointing to miss the two friendlies because it is always nice to get back in to the games and get the confidence going again, ‘says Matt.

“When you haven’t played for a while, you just want to play and it is a bit annoying but in the long run it is better for me to miss these two.

“The injury is nothing serious. I just rolled my ankle in training slightly. It has settled down now and I have just missed a week or so, so it is fine. I expect to be available for the two friendly games at Leek and Chester.”
