Steve Looks Forward To Wolves Visit

25 July 2014

Davis says Wolves will provide stern test ahead of season kick off

Steve Davis is looking forward to the visit of the current League One champions Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend.  Davis was a boyhood supporter of the Midlands club and hailed Kenny Jackett’s side as the most superior team in our division last season as they collated a record 103 points.

Talking ahead of the visit of Wolves, Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Wolves were the superior team in our division last season and they will provide a stern test again this weekend.

“We know we will be facing a tough opponent and they will probably have more of the possession than us. It will be a different test than it was at Macclesfield on Tuesday night when he controlled large parts of the game.

“We know we have to improve on that performance and we will prepare better than we did on Tuesday. We cannot afford not to be on it from the start against an opponent like Wolves.

“We will learn a lot from facing a team that will be playing in the Championship next season. They are a very good side and it will be interesting to see how we do against them.”
