Steve Davis remains hopeful that defender Harry Davis and Ryan Colclough will be fit for the start of the new season. Both are continuing to work on their long-term injuries in the club gymnasium.

Striker Vadaine Oliver is also struggling with a twisted ankle but should be fine for the club’s opening friendlies, starting with a trip to Norton on July 11th.

Steve Davis told crewealex.net: “Harry is progressing well and should be back sometime in pre-season. We are hopeful that he will be ready for the beginning of the season.

“We are also hopeful that Ryan will be okay as well. He has been to St. George’s Park for a week to have some treatment and for us to get a different perspective. They have some different equipment there and it allowed him to have a change of scenery because he has been out a long time.

“He has had another injection because he has some inflammation there and hopefully that will settle down and he will see the benefit of that. Ryan has missed almost a year of football and he is the type of young lad who needs to be playing. It has been a difficult and long road for him.

“Vadaine has twisted his ankle, which has prevented him from training but he should be fine and will return soon.”
