Duo Touch And Go For Kick Off

8 July 2014

Harry Davis and Ryan Colclough rated as doubtful for season opener at Fleetwood

Crewe Alexandra’s injured pair of Ryan Colclough and Harry Davis are making steady improvements but are still doubtful for the start of the new season on 9th August. Colclough and Davis are working hard in the Reaseheath gym and treatment room with conditioning coach Barry Beasley and head physio Rob Sharp.

Steve Davis is still planning the opening games of the season without his two highly-rated youngsters, rating them as ‘touch and go’ for the opener away at newly promoted Fleetwood Town.

Steve told crewealex.net: “Everyone is fit expect the two long-term ones. Both are improving steadily but they remain touch and go for the start of the season.

“They are getting there with their fitness but they are missing out on game time and it is doubtful that they will be ready for the start of August.

“It has been a slow process with Ryan, longer than we anticipated but he is getting there.”

Meanwhile striker Vadaine Oliver is expected to shake off a sprained ankle to be involved in our pre-season games at Norton on Friday and Nantwich on Sunday.
