Davis: "First Of A Few Coming In"

Steve Davis delighted to add another target man to his attacking options

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site of his delight in adding another target man to his attacking options after signing Marcus Haber this afternoon. The 25-year-old Canadian has signed a two-year-deal following his release from Stevenage this summer.

Davis, who is still after more signings before the end of the summer transfer window, told the club’s official web-site: “I am delighted to have added to the squad and Marcus is someone we know well.

“He was offered to us last season when he fell out of favour at Stevenage and he is someone who knows this league well. Those big, strong, mobile target men are hard to find and he will provide competition to Vadaine (Oliver).

“He is a man and has some experience and that will help us because we are a young squad. He will be the first to admit that he hasn’t scored enough goals in his career but we will work on that and improve. We are confident and Marcus is confident that he can add more goals to his game.

The boss added: “He is a nuisance and occupies centre-halves and will give us physical presence up there and he creates chances for others. He is a big strong lad and we hope he will be the first of a few more coming in over the next few weeks.”
