Steve aiming to bring forward in after missing out on Hitch

.Steve Davis will step up his search for a possible new striker this week after missing out on re-signing Tom Hitchcock from Queens Park Rangers

The Alex boss would like to add to his forward options in the wake of losing young Max Clayton with a broken ankle and although we have welcomed back Mathias Pogba from injury, Davis is after another forward to add goals to our team.

Steve told crewealex.net: “We are constantly looking for players who we think could improve us and I am not ruling out bringing someone else in during the window.

“The loan market can be difficult as was shown with Tom (Hitchcock) so all you can do is keep in the loop an keep all yours fingers and toes crossed to get it over the line.

He added: “As a manager you learn all the time but when it comes to bringing in loan players you cannot always control things because they belong to other clubs.”
