Robertson Leaves Club

Gregor departs club by mutual consent

Crewe Alexandra full-back Gregor Robertson has today left the club by mutual consent. The former Scotland Under-21 defender moves onto pastures new after finding it difficult to hold down a regular place in Steve Davis’ side this season. Robertson, 29, has found his first-team opportunities at Gresty Road restricted due to the impressive form of Matt Tootle in the left-back role.

Robertson joined Crewe Alexandra from Chesterfield in the summer of 2012 and he went on to make 36 appearances in his debut season. The reliable full-back arrived with a wealth of experience having played close to 250 games for his previous clubs Nottingham Forest, Rotherham and Chesterfield.

The Edinburgh-born Robertson previously won 15 caps for the Scotland Under-21s and was part of the Chesterfield side that won promotion from League Two in 2011.

Everyone at Crewe Alexandra wishes Gregor well with his future career.
